Writing Updates:

In what I’ve tentatively begun to call the Alternate Threads Universe series set in the far future timeline I’ve finished the level two edits of Book One, and started the edits and revisions to Book Two’s current pieces, but that book is the first draft and still rather amorphous. Book Two is at about 63,000 words and shows no signs of stopping before 120,000 words.  Revisions to Book One’s agent query letter are at Level Four. 

In the “Current Era” timeline of the Alternate Threads Universe the stand alone Tokyo Area Novel edits are at level two. Two beta readers already finished, one has dropped out, and the rest are still reading.  (I hope.)  The short story set in this book’s timeline of events is out to TOR.com, who is self-admittedly not fast on turn arounds with reject/accept notices. 

There are a few more short stories bubbling in the pot, including one horror attempt, one erotica tinged short that looks to be headed to novella territory soon, and another fragment that is I don’t even know what. 

Life Updates:

Thanks to a generous friend last month I was able to maintain presence on the net. for a little while. I’m still battling either bronchitis or some weird sort of nighttime asthma. It’s not terrible bothersome, but it’s not pleasant. The family seems ok, with Daisuke hearty and healthy and oh so tall for a two point six year old.  (Three in September.) I’m truly lucky to be one of his mothers. My mom is doing amazing since her brain surgery, and she’s keeping her diabetes under control, which I’m really proud of. And my wife and I? Well, she’s obviously a rockstar, and I think this year’s challenges are really proving out our love for one another.  I just wish I had a career as an author. Soon, right?
